Martin, he has a lust for life
Far too young to ever take a wife
Like any young man he likes late nights
Makes up for with regular exercise and balanced diet
Normally he rides a fixed-gear bike
He was out drinking with the boys from work last night
Didn’t get into his bed until the small hours of the night
After a lengthy and expensive taxi ride
8:10, shower and then, two Nurofen
Sweating all the way to Mile End station
As it turns out it was fine
As he gets in the door just a little after nine
To be precise it was 9:06
Orange juice, banana, Weetabix, Twix
Filing files in the bin and chatting to people on linked-in
Clicking on pics of random chicks
For a voyeuristic fix
He’s having a good little day
A productive little monday
He thinks his days are numbered
He’ll be out of here some day
And it’s sooner than he thinks
Another day ends and it’s a quarter past five
Buzzing around in the dark, like one of the hive
Martin takes his place on the wrong side of the line
And there’s evil lurking on the District Line
Martin didn’t know the dangers
He didn’t have a clue
It would be hard to imagine that any man could do
Such an evil thing unless you’ve seen it for yourself

Martin knew about not stopping at the red light
Beat the bus to get to his desk on time
At any cost, beat the boss
Didn’t know about not straying beyond that yellow line
That’s when he had to say goodbye to life
As a random nutter, he put the shutters on his life
With no reason or no rife
Hand in the back, it’s an unprovoked attack
As he pushed him on the track
What an evil man, seemingly without a plan
Was defined by his actions
Martin’s a victim
It comes over the tannoy just
Seemingly to annoy us
Now we’re all gonna miss Eastenders
Haven’t you got Sky Plus?
All we care about is us
We wanna get home without all the fuss
